Background
The agency is seeking a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Coordinator who can proactively engage in its operations in Nigeria and ensure compliance with its corporate policy and culture, contributing to strategic objectives. The Coordinator will work closely with members of the Nigeria Office to enhance PPP projects, including "Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Business Support Projects (SDG Projects)" and "Private Sector Investment and Financing Projects (PSIF Projects)."
The Coordinator will promote project formation and oversee the implementation of these projects. Additionally, by strengthening relationships and cooperation with Japanese companies, the Coordinator will accelerate investment from Japan to Nigeria and build platforms for collaboration among various parties to address social and economic challenges in Nigeria, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the country.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will (but not limited to):
Perform additional tasks as directed by the Chief Representative of the Nigeria Office.
Handle questions and consultations from Japanese private companies about the agency's PPP schemes (2-3 cases per month).
Develop "SDG Projects" (6-8 projects per year) and oversee their implementation and monitoring (currently 3 projects).
Promote SDG and PSIF Projects in Nigeria via the agency’s website, Facebook, etc. (6 times a year).
Create presentation materials and hold seminars to introduce SDG Projects to Japanese companies (6 times a year).
Publicize the results of SDG Projects and support their commercialization (to be implemented in the future, as no projects are yet completed).
Share information and promote collaboration with ongoing agency projects in Nigeria (about 12 discussions per year).
Handle administrative and accounting tasks related to the above duties.
Strengthening Cooperation Between Private Companies and the Agency;
Exchange information with Japanese government agencies (Embassy of Japan, JETRO, etc.) and Nigerian agencies (FMITI, NITDA, SMEDAN, NIPC, NEPC, AEA, Lagos State Government), and universities.
Plan and hold seminars to introduce the current situation in Nigeria to Japanese companies (similar to 1.iv).
Plan and hold seminars for Nigerian companies as needed.
Organize study tours for Japanese companies or organizations as needed.
Organize study tours for Nigerian companies or organizations as needed.
Requirements
At least have a Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in government offices, companies, NGOs, etc.
Experience in private-sector collaboration work is preferred.
Required Competencies:
Sufficient ability to read, discuss, and write reports in English. (It is preferable to have ability to perform works in Japanese)
Know the decent business communication manner (in direct meeting, by telephone, or by e-mail, etc) including timely “Report, Communication, and Consultation”.
Sufficient Skills of Microsoft Office applications
Good knowledge and experience of data and communication tools (Outlook (email and calendar), OneDrive, WhatsApp, etc.)
Have a professional discipline based upon a serious sense of responsibility to his/her work.
Be able to fulfil all the tasks requested flexibly, positively and with his/her initiative.
