Job Description
As the General Business Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of our spa, beauty, and fashion business in Lagos.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient business processes, driving revenue growth, managing budgets, and fostering a positive work environment.
You will lead a team of professionals across various departments and collaborate with senior management to execute strategic initiatives aimed at achieving organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
Operational Management:
Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency across all business units.
Oversee daily operations, including inventory management, scheduling, and quality control, to ensure seamless service delivery.
Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to optimize workflow.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Financial Management:
Develop and manage budgets for each department, ensuring adherence to financial targets and profitability goals.
Analyze financial reports and performance data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality or customer experience.
Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate financial forecasting and reporting.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and mentor department managers and staff to foster a high-performing and motivated team.
Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to ensure individual and team growth.
Foster a positive work culture that emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Resolve employee conflicts and address performance issues in a timely and professional manner.
Customer Experience:
Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained across all touchpoints.
Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty, such as loyalty programs and personalized services.
Respond to customer feedback and complaints promptly, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Stay updated on industry trends and customer preferences to anticipate changing demands and stay ahead of the competition.
Strategic Planning:
Work closely with the CEO and senior management team to develop and execute strategic plans that align with the company's mission and vision.
Identify growth opportunities and market trends to drive business expansion and revenue growth.
Evaluate potential partnerships, acquisitions, and collaborations to support business objectives.
Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to identify potential threats and opportunities.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing the spa, beauty, and fashion industry.
Stay updated on changes in regulations and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
Maintain accurate records and documentation to support regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Proven experience (7+ years) in a similar role within the spa, beauty, or fashion industry.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute operational strategies.
Solid understanding of financial management principles and budgeting processes.
Strategic thinker with a track record of driving business growth.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and business management software.
Knowledge of local regulations and compliance requirements.
