Job Description
As the Senior Legal Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance and managing legal risks within our organization. With a minimum of 13 years of strong legal experience, including significant exposure to the manufacturing industry, you will oversee internal audit processes and mitigate potential risks effectively.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement robust legal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, identify areas of risk, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
Provide expert legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal matters, including contract negotiation, employment law, intellectual property, and corporate governance.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to review and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives.
Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting the manufacturing industry, and proactively advise management on potential implications and compliance strategies.
Manage legal disputes, including litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes, in coordination with external counsel when necessary.
Develop and deliver training programs on legal and compliance-related topics to employees at all levels of the organization.
Mentor and supervise junior members of the legal team, fostering their professional development and growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognized institution; additional certifications or Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 13 years of progressive legal experience, with significant exposure to regulatory compliance and risk management within the manufacturing industry.
Proven track record of success in developing and implementing effective legal and compliance strategies.
Sound knowledge of Nigerian legal system, regulations, and business practices.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
Salary
750,000 - 800,000 Naira per annum.
