Job Title: Senior Legal Manager (Regulatory Compliance, Risk and Internal Audit) - Manufacturing Experience Only

Position Overview

• The Senior Legal Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the organization’s compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• This role focuses on regulatory compliance, risk management, and internal auditing within the manufacturing sector.
• The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing and possess a deep understanding of the unique regulatory and operational challenges in this industry.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance:

• Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to all relevant local, state, federal, and international regulations specific to the manufacturing industry.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations, and update policies and practices accordingly.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability and risk.

Risk Management:

• Identify, assess, and prioritize risks associated with manufacturing operations, including operational, financial, legal, and reputational risks.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans to address identified risks.
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure risk management practices are integrated into daily operations.

Internal Audit:

• Plan and execute internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, processes, and systems within the manufacturing operations.
• Prepare audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with management to implement and monitor corrective actions.

Legal Advisory:

• Provide legal advice and support to various departments, ensuring all activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents pertinent to manufacturing operations.
• Manage litigation, disputes, and other legal matters as they arise.

Policy Development and Training:

• Develop and update internal policies and procedures to promote compliance and mitigate risks.
• Design and conduct training programs to educate employees on compliance, risk management, and internal audit practices.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Act as a liaison between the company and regulatory authorities, external auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Represent the company in regulatory and compliance-related discussions and negotiations.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Law

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in compliance or risk management (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Risk Manager (CRM)).
• Experience with international manufacturing regulations and standards.
• Proficiency in using compliance management and auditing software.

Experience:

• 8-10 years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, and internal auditing within the manufacturing industry.
• Proven track record of managing complex compliance and risk management programs in a manufacturing setting.

Skills and Competencies:

• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, regulations, and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary
N750,000 - N800,000 Monthly.
