Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is to lead and operate the finance, financial risk, and support functions (the finance function) of Loveworld Medical Centre.
This position plays a vital role in informing strategic planning and decision making and ensuring prudent stewardship of the finance function to protect the business and enhance shareholder value.
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Finance Manager and the Financial Controller.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supports the Financial Managerto ensure all strategic and operational plans, business plans and budgets are complete, align with the objectives of the business and are delivered on time.
Management of the month-end closure and ensuring that all budget holders have timely and accurate information. Month-end routines will include payroll journals, accruals/prepayments/deferred income accounting, producing the project and monthly reports, producing a profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet, and all balance sheet reconciliations.
Supports the Finance Managerin the establishment and implementation of performance measures to ensure delivery of plans can be measured.
Supports the implementation of all plans as agreed and meets performance measures
Where required by the Financial Manager, leads projects as agreed and delivers project outcomes according to timeframes and performance measures.
Ensures all appropriate financial information is prepared to support proposed agreements for the business as requested
Reviews commercial contracts and supplier agreements to ensure that they meet the requirements of the Company and that any risks are within acceptable parameters.
Robust financial models are prepared that appropriately support capital expenditure business cases
Review the outcomes of capital expenditure approvalson a regular basis.
Ensures that there are documented standard processes and procedures and appropriate controls in place for all activities that are undertaken within the finance function
Establishes and regularly reviews financial and management reporting models and templates to ensure reporting is relevant and concisely presented
Requirements
HND / BSc in accounting and ICAN/ ACCA certified.
4-5 years experienceas an Accountant and 2-3 years as a in a hospital setting.
Ability to juggle multiple deadlines simultaneously, multitask, and prioritize
Must be a team player with a willingness to always pitch in to help
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Discrete and comfortable working with highly confidential information
Experience with data entry, creating and analyzing reports, and presenting findings to senior management
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
