We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:

• Manage and maintain financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts to provide insights into the financial performance of the hotel.
• Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate funds are available for operational needs.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.

Budgeting and Planning:

• Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, taking into account operational requirements and revenue targets.
• Track expenses and revenue against budgeted targets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with department heads to develop departmental budgets and monitor expenditure.

Compliance and Audit:

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations specific to the hospitality industry.
• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and address any audit findings or recommendations.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.

Cost Control and Analysis:

• Implement cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency and minimize expenses.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks, providing recommendations for improvement.
• Work closely with management to develop strategies for revenue generation and cost containment.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics.
• Conduct variance analysis to explain discrepancies between actual results and budgeted expectations.
• Present financial information and analysis to stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred.
• Previous experience working as an accountant in the hospitality industry, preferably within a hotel or resort environment.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations, including revenue streams, cost structures, and industry-specific financial metrics.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel for financial analysis and modeling.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, demonstrating professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
