Manage and maintain financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts to provide insights into the financial performance of the hotel.
Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate funds are available for operational needs.
Conduct financial analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
Budgeting and Planning:
Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, taking into account operational requirements and revenue targets.
Track expenses and revenue against budgeted targets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.
Collaborate with department heads to develop departmental budgets and monitor expenditure.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations specific to the hospitality industry.
Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and address any audit findings or recommendations.
Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.
Cost Control and Analysis:
Implement cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency and minimize expenses.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks, providing recommendations for improvement.
Work closely with management to develop strategies for revenue generation and cost containment.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics.
Conduct variance analysis to explain discrepancies between actual results and budgeted expectations.
Present financial information and analysis to stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred.
Previous experience working as an accountant in the hospitality industry, preferably within a hotel or resort environment.
Strong understanding of hotel operations, including revenue streams, cost structures, and industry-specific financial metrics.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel for financial analysis and modeling.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, demonstrating professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
