Position Overview
The Head of Finance Operation will oversee the financial operations of CIG Motors Company Limited, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.
This role involves managing day-to-day financial activities, implementing financial policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
The Head of Finance Operation will work closely with other departments to support financial planning, reporting, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and reconciliations.
Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
Conduct financial analysis and provide reports to senior management.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
Support strategic planning and decision-making with financial insights.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards.
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operations.
Automate and streamline financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with IT to maintain and upgrade financial systems and tools.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance operations team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the finance team and with other departments.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degrees in Accounting or Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA).
Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance operations or a related role.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage 300, SAP).
Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze complex financial data.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
