Job Description
At Mess-1 Restaurant, our Kitchen Cooks are essential in delivering outstanding culinary experiences. As a Kitchen Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to the highest standards, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Your role is pivotal in creating high-quality dishes that delight our customers.
Responsibilities
Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
Cooking: Cook and assemble dishes according to restaurant standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment by washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, stock supplies, and report shortages.
Waste Management: Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately and keep the waste disposal area clean.
Equipment Maintenance: Clean, store, and maintain kitchen equipment properly.
Compliance: Adhere to all food safety, hygiene standards, and health and safety regulations.
Education
Minimum Requirement: Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
Additional Training: Food safety and hygiene certification is a plus.
Experience:
Preferred Experience: Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant environment is advantageous but not mandatory. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
2 - 5 years work experience.
Other Requirements:
Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Work Authorization: Must have legal authorization to work in Nigeria.
Personal Attributes: Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a passion for the culinary arts.
Skills:
Attention to Detail: Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistent food preparation.
Time Management: Manage time efficiently to complete tasks promptly, especially during busy periods.
Team Player: Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff and chefs.
Physical Stamina: Stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
Adaptability: Handle various kitchen tasks and adapt to changes quickly.
