Job Title: Business Development Officer

Job Duties

  • Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets in the training industry
  • Achieve targets in terms on new customer acquisition, revenue & profitability
  • Seek out the appropriate contact in an organization
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers
  • Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone or e-meetings
  • Foster and develop relationships with customers/clients
  • Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
  • Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
  • Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes
  • Draw up client contracts - depending on the size of company, this task may be completed by someone else or agreements may not be as formal
  • Have a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about them
  • Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing & digital marketing department
  • Seek ways of improving the way the business operates
  • Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate
  • Keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world
  • Local and regional travel wherever & whenever required

Requirements

  • Graduate with MBA in Marketing, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years (B2B Sales Corporate Training Industry) - CTC Budget BDO - 5 to 10 LPA
  • 4+ years of direct work experience in a sales capacity (experience from Training industry is mandatory)
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects, close deals, and achieve sales quotas
  • Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre¬-call planning, call control, account development, and time management.
  • Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers.
  • Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
  • Strong problem identification and objections resolution skills.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
  • Maintaining a database of prospective client information
  • Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
  • Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures.
  • Ability to travel and attend sales events or exhibitions.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Collaborating with management on sales goals, planning, and forecasting; maintaining short- and long-term business development plans
  • High level of integrity and work ethic.

Working Conditions

  • Travel will be required
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.
