Grassroots Lifesaving Outreach (LESGO) is an impartial, neutral and independent Non-Governmental Organization whose mission exclusively established to promote life in underserved communities through empowering communities to know and protect lives including their environment towards ensuring safe habitation through participatory methodology. Established in Grassroots Lifesaving Outreach was established in 2010 but was incorporated in the year 2011 with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). LESGO exists to partner with government and relevant agencies to promote and strengthen humanitarian law and a universal principle that seeks to honor the dignity of mankind with support and believe that Life is worth living and living well.

Job Title: Health Coordinator
Location: Madagali / Yola South, Adamawa
Employment Type: Full-time
Contract Duration: 6 Months

Job Summary
The Health Coordinator will coordinate all health activities on the project to ensure effective, efficient and timely delivery of planned activities on the project.
This project employs a health system strengthening approach to provide a high-quality primary health care service to assist affected populations while using antimicrobials rationally for LESGO Adamawa State project intervention.
He/she will be responsible for supervising health staff on the project and will carry out implementation, monitoring, support with the overall capacity building of health program staff, and progress reporting of projects.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Shall report to the Project/Program Manager
Coordinates activity of LGA Team Leads and ensure high quality and timely delivery of all health related objectives
Support consultation on need basis, especially when on the field.
Ensure that the activities are implemented and are responsive to communities, partners, and in line with humanitarian principles, values and strategic plan and procedures
Provide technical support to subordinates and provide the necessary mentoring and trainings as needed to strengthen their capacity so as to enable them perform their tasks optimally
Prepare project and donor reports in a timely manner and in compliance with internal and external requirements with approval of the project/Program Manager.
Ensure that program interventions continue to be informed by and integrated with other core sectors (Protection & WASH)
In collaboration with MEAL unit develop tools for the effective data gathering and reporting
Oversees all technical activities of field staff, working closely with Clinical Supervisors and Team Leads
Coordinates with Clinical Supervisors and Team Leads in gathering field reports.
Approves clearance of field staff for monthly stipends
In collaboration with the MEAL officer, monitor program objectives, outputs, indicators, and activities – ensuring team remains on track as per donor requirement
Work with MEAL team to ensure appropriate, timely and accurate data collection against agreed indicators to enable both internal and external reporting
Represent and participate in relevant Health working groups, sector meetings and any other relevant forums
Position Requirements
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Community Health or any other health-related field
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent leadership and coordination skills
Fluent in English and local language (Hausa)
Experience working with NGO
At least 3-4 years’ experience in coordinating, implementing and managing primary and secondary health programs
Availability to Travel as the need arise
Any other duties that may be assigned from time by supervisors.
