Sim Impacting Lives Foundation is an independent, non-governmental and non-profit organization established by a woman with immense passion in the humanitarian and development sector with experiences in different sectors to promote Girls, women and children capacity development and provide opportunities for the vulnerable and less privileged in the society. It is a registered foundation under Nigerian law, registered as a corporate organization with Corporate Affairs Commission in Abuja.
SILF is involved in different areas of work to promote the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The areas of focus include but are not limited to, Poverty, zero hunger, health, education, clean water and sanitation, gender equality, research, environment and climate change, girls’ and women’s empowerment, and Social and Economic Advancement. Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Finance Advisor (Volunteer).
The Finance Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting our financial management and reporting processes to ensure transparency, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
This volunteer position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in finance or accounting to contribute their skills and make a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities
Financial Management:
Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
Monitor budget allocations and expenditures to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Conduct regular reconciliations of financial accounts and transactions.
Prepare financial reports, statements, and analyses as required.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Support the development of annual budgets in collaboration with the Finance Team and Program Managers.
Assist in forecasting financial needs and resources for upcoming projects and initiatives.
Monitor budget variances and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Compliance and Governance:
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
Assist in conducting internal audits and implementing recommendations for improvement.
Support the preparation of financial documentation for audits and grant reporting.
Grant Management:
Assist in tracking and reporting on grant funds, including budget utilization and expenditure tracking.
Prepare financial reports and documentation for grant applications and reporting requirements.
Financial Systems and Processes:
Contribute to the improvement of financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide training and support to staff and volunteers on financial procedures and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
Previous 1-5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
