Job Description
An IT Site Engineer is responsible for maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure and services at a specific location or site.
This role involves a wide range of tasks, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing local network configurations, ensuring data security, and providing end-user support
Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Support (ITOP):
Maintain and support the site's IT infrastructure, including servers, network devices, and end-user computing devices, to ensure high availability and performance.
Service Level Management (SLMO):
Monitor IT service performance against agreed service levels and performance metrics. Identify and implement improvements to meet or exceed these standards.
Incident and Problem Management (USUP, PBMG):
Provide first-line response for IT incidents and service requests, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
Change Management (CHMG):
Implement changes to IT systems and configurations in accordance with organizational change management procedures to minimize risk to service availability.
Document changes and maintain accurate records of system configurations and modifications.
Information Security (SCTY):
Maintain security measures to protect data and IT assets at the site, in line with organizational security policies and standards.
User Support and Training (HUSP):
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, enhancing their understanding and efficient use of IT systems and services.
Vendor Management (SUPP):
Monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with service level agreements and contractual obligations.
Technology Awareness and Evaluation (EMRG):
Stay informed about emerging technologies and IT trends that could benefit the site's IT operations.
Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for their adoption to improve IT service delivery and performance.
Collaboration and Communication (RLMT):
Work closely with IT teams, business units, and external partners to ensure IT services align with business needs and objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Relevant technical certifications or associate degrees may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree for candidates with substantial experience.
Professional Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or other relevant IT certifications.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or a similar role, with a proven track record of maintaining and troubleshooting IT infrastructure.
Demonstrated experience in managing and supporting end-user computing devices (PCs, laptops, mobile devices), including hardware and software troubleshooting.
Experience with network configuration and troubleshooting, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and firewall settings.
Hands-on experience in implementing and managing IT security measures, such as antivirus software, patch management, and access controls.
Proven ability to provide technical support and training to end-users, effectively communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.
