Job Description

• We are seeking a talented and passionate Fashion Design Officer to join our innovative fashion team. As a Fashion Design Officer, you will play a key role in bringing creative concepts to life through your design expertise.

Responsibilities

• Design Development: Conceptualize and create fashion designs that align with brand aesthetics and current market trends.
• Material and Color Selection: Source and select appropriate fabrics, materials, and colors for each design, considering both aesthetics and functionality.
• Pattern Making: Develop and create patterns that translate design concepts into tangible garments.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, production, and marketing, to ensure cohesive and successful product launches.
• Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality throughout the design and production process, ensuring that final products meet brand expectations.
• Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and consumer preferences to inform design decisions.
• Prototype Review: Oversee the creation of prototypes, providing feedback, and making necessary adjustments to achieve the desired design outcome.
• Timeline Management: Effectively manage design timelines to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

• Education: SSCE / OND / HND or a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• Experience: Proven experience as a fashion designer with a minimum of 2 years in the fashion industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and familiarity with pattern-making software will be an added advantage
• Creativity: strong creative and artistic abilities with a keen understanding of fashion trends.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills are needed to effectively convey design concepts and collaborate with team members.
• Detail-oriented: Attention to detail in design, pattern-making, and quality control processes.
• Adaptability: ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Portfolio: A comprehensive portfolio showcasing a range of fashion designs, demonstrating creativity, technical skill, and an understanding of diverse styles.
• Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of fashion industry trends, fabrics, and production processes.
• Fashion Software Proficiency: Proficient in using design software such as Adobe Illustrator and familiarity with pattern-making software.
• Pattern Making Skills: Strong pattern-making skills are needed to bring design concepts to life.

Desirable:

• The ideal candidate must reside within the Sango Ota, Ogun State, or Lagos environs and be proficient in basic computing such as Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as internet-based applications such as Canva, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google.
• A candidate who possesses an SSCE or training certificate in related fields with strong practical knowledge in fashion design and tailoring can apply, as priority will be given on the ability to deliver on the job.
• Sustainability Focus: Knowledge or experience in sustainable and ethical fashion practices.
