Network Administrator / Computer Hardware Maintenance Engineer II at the West African Examinations Council (WAEC)

The West African Examinations Council is West Africa's foremost examining board established by law to determine the examinations required in the public interest in the English-speaking West African countries, to conduct the examinations and to award certificates comparable to those of equivalent examining authorities internationally.

Job Title: Network Administrator / Computer Hardware Maintenance Engineer II

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties among others:

• Installing and configuring Network devices and systems
• Identifying, and resolving Network related issues
• Monitoring Computer Network and Systems
• Providing Network Administration and Support
• Working with other IT Support personnel
• Schedule backups of Network device configuration
• Research on Network products in support of Network procurement and development efforts
• Other related job roles as may be assigned.

Qualifications and Experience
Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Electrical/Electronic Engineering or allied discipline.

Applicant must possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Electrical/Electronic Engineering or allied discipline;
• Professional certification: CompTIAA+, CCT certification;
• Professional Certifications e.g. CCNA, CCNP, Sophos XG, Aruba;
• Strong understanding of IT Network Infrastructure;
• Experience with LAN and WAN Administration;
• Experience in Cyber Security would be an added advantage;
• A minimum of three (3) years post NYSC relevant experience in a reputable organisation.

Applicants must:

• Be able to use Personal Computers, MS Office software package and have knowledge of web-based systems;
• Be a team player with good inter-personal skills and be open and able to lead change;
• Possess influencing, analytical and communication skills;
• Be an organiser/planner with ability to be flexible and to be able to successfully implement ideas.
