Job Title: International Business Development Strategist
Location: Lagos
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive market research and analysis to identify new international markets, opportunities, and trends in the event management industry.
Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for expanding the organization business presence globally, including market entry strategies and growth plans.
Collaborate with senior leadership to set clear business objectives, targets, and milestones for international expansion initiatives. Identify key success factors, risks, and challenges associated with entering new markets and develop mitigation strategies accordingly.
Establish strategic partnerships, alliances, and collaborations with international stakeholders to support the company's growth objectives.
Cultivate and nurture relationships with global clients, partners, vendors, and industry influencers to drive business development opportunities.
Lead negotiations and contract discussions with international clients to secure new business and strategic partnerships. Provide strategic guidance and support to the sales and marketing teams to develop tailored strategies for international client acquisition and retention.
Maintain a strong network of contacts within the event management industry and related sectors to stay informed about industry developments and opportunities.
Represent the organization at international events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and explore business prospects.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of international business operations, assessing key metrics, KPIs, and financial indicators to ensure business objectives are met.
Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities and drive operational efficiencies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance service delivery, and ensure consistent quality standards across international markets.
Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard against potential challenges and disruptions in international operations.
Provide regular reports, updates, and recommendations to senior management on the progress and outcomes of international business initiatives.
Develop and refine the company's international business strategy, aligning it with the overall business goals and objectives of the organisation.
Drive innovation and business growth through the identification and implementation of new opportunities, revenue streams, and value-added services in international markets.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, or a related field.
7-10 years of experience in strategic business development, international expansion, or global market management, preferably in the event management or hospitality industry.
Proven track record of driving business growth, securing strategic partnerships, and achieving international expansion targets.
Strong analytical skills and business acumen to assess market opportunities, identify risks, and develop actionable strategies.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives. International experience and cultural sensitivity to navigate and succeed in global business environments.
Proficiency in industry-specific tools, analytics platforms, and project management software to drive operational excellence and performance measurement.
