Job Title: Waiter

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

• Greets customers and offers restaurant or food menus, answers questions about menu offerings, processes food and drink orders, carries food and drinks from kitchen to tables, and prepares bills.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Welcomes customers when they arrive to take their meal or drinks.
• Introduces customers to the menu and announces daily or seasonal menu specials
• Answers questions about menu items, ingredients, and pricing
• Takes customers' orders for food and drink by punching into a tablet
• Passes customer orders along to kitchen staff for preparation
• Collects food/drink orders from the kitchen, verifies that the order is well presented in the plate/cup to the customers
• Ensures that customers meals are well served and processes orders for additional courses if necessary
• Removes used dishes/glasses, and flatware from tables
• Processes cash and credit card payments and returns change to customers if necessary
• Sets tables with dishes, glasses, and flatware and refills condiments
• Ensure that cups and cutleries are washed and polished.
• Maintains familiarity with menu items, specials, and restaurant information
• Meets with managers and kitchen staff daily or regularly in order to learn about menu changes and specials as well as discuss upcoming reservations and customers with special needs

Educational Qualification and Experience

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree, HND, NCE, OND qualification with 2 - 5 years’ work experience.
• Proven work experience as a Waiter
• Basic math skills
• Attentiveness and patience for customers
