We are recruiting suitable candidates to fill the position below:
We seek a curriculum specialist to manage the curriculum design function and other cognate learning functions at AltSchool Africa with the main goal geared towards enriching the learning experience of our students.
The curriculum specialist will play a vital role in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum at AltSchool Africa.
Reporting to the director, of learning & academics, the role will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive curricular initiatives and projects, support efforts geared toward enhancing the quality of learning experience and education that learners receive, and facilitate continuous improvement of education quality at AltSchool Africa.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (master's degree preferred)
5 years of teaching experience in any K-16 educational institution
Strong knowledge of educational standards, pedagogical methods, and curriculum development
Qualitative and quantitative research skills
Expertise in educational technology and relevant software applications
Proficient in UI design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and InVision.
Demonstrated commitment to global best practices in education and EdTech ecosystems, along with strong data analysis skills

Responsibilities
Utilize research to find out more about the future of work in Africa/globally and pedagogical best practices while integrating findings to design curriculum for new content across all programs and to enhance the quality of learning experience at AltSchool Africa.
Ensure that our curriculum aligns with international educational standards, goals, and learning objectives.
Systematically plan and execute curriculum reviews by identifying areas for revision, making data-driven recommendations, and implementing approved changes.
Collaborate with stakeholders and experts to design, implement, and update our curriculum
Stay informed about current global educational trends, pedagogical strategies, and best practices, and adeptly integrate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and resources into the curriculum.
Work with the technical program manager to create and implement a strong professional development program for instructors. The program provides ongoing training to instructors, enhancing their capabilities to facilitate all learning outcomes.
Work with the technical program manager to create assessment tools and evaluation criteria that align with curriculum objectives and standards, ensuring the effectiveness of the curriculum.
Analyze data and feedback to make data-driven recommendations on the curriculum.
Represent the curriculum & learning experience design team at mid-level stakeholder meetings, sharing reports appropriately with the director, learning & academics.
Participate in work and project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
