Job Title: Finance Manager, JSI Nigeria
Location: Abuja, Nigeria

Description
The JSI/Nigeria Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring coordinated finance and budget management support across all the JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc (“JSI”) projects in Nigeria.
The Finance Manager is a full-time position and will be based in Abuja, Nigeria and provides financial supports to all the JSI projects in Nigeria.
S/he will set up and maintain the JSI financial accounts and administrative systems for all JSI projects in Nigeria. .
The Finance Manager will be responsible for monitoring the financial status of projects including budget tracking and preparation of expenditure projections, expense monitoring and financial reporting.
S/he will ensure cost-effectiveness, efficiency and accountability throughout the life of the project .
The Finance Manager reports to the Country Finance & Operations Director.
The Finance Manager will work in collaboration with the project team in the JSI Nigeria office to support all the financial aspects of the planning and rollout of project’s activities alongside other task as may be assigned by the Supervisor. S/he will support the technical teams to achieve program objectives.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
In collaboration with the Country Finance & Operation Director and US/Nigeria based Finance team, establish and maintain a financial and administrative systems fulfilling all JSI and donor rules and regulations and in line with JSI financial policies and procedures;
Collaborate with Country Finance and Operations Director (CFOD) to maintain monthly budget tracking sheet (BTS) and update at least monthly and as necessary in a timely manner and make ready for monthly financial analysis;
Review and track program budget(s), monitor expenditures and help prepare financial reports;
Review and monitor field operations budget with the management team, this may include the reviewing activities cost projections;
Review and certify the monthly payroll for staff;
Prepare expenditure projections and place timely cash flow requests JSI to the CFOD for review and submissions;
Prepare Project’s financial reports as required
Be a key participant during preparation of work plan and work closely with the technical team to prepare and monitor costed work plans;
Support the Technical teams with daily program management, contributing to program decision-making by providing input on the financial status of the program
Review procurement request against project budget to ensure this procurement are included in the budget.
Review travel documents before CFOD and Project Director approvals.
Support New business dedelopment budgets as requested by the supervisor
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor which are in line with the general concept of this position.
Qualification
Minimum Bachelor, Preferred Advanced Degree in a Finance, Accounting or Business-related field;
At least 7 years of relevant experience in financial management and/or accounting in an NGO setting;
Relevant experience with USAID and Bill & Melinda Gates-funded programs and knowledge of USAID/BMGF rules, and regulations strongly desired;
Excellent financial management and budgeting skills
Extensive, demonstrated financial, management and personnel experience;
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage tasks and geographically dispersed teams;
Excellent verbal and written English;
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Proficiency in Microsoft Word;
Experience with QuickBooks accounting system desired;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
Demonstrated experience supervising, mentoring, and training staff;
Able to travel to project state offices; and
Must be able to maintain confidentiality for all project and staff proprietary matters.
Being a Charettered or Certified National Accountant is highly recommended.
