Job Title: Livestock and Vaccination Manager

Job Summary
Farmyad is hiring for Livestock and Vaccination Manager who will beresponsible for overseeing the health and welfare of livestock by implementing and managing vaccination programs, monitoring animal health, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
This role requires a deep understanding of animal husbandry, disease prevention, and farm management.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive vaccination schedules for various types of livestock.
Administer vaccines and oversee the vaccination process to ensure proper technique and effectiveness.
Maintain detailed records of vaccinations, health status, and any adverse reactions.
Conduct regular health assessments and screenings for livestock.
Identify signs of illness or disease and take appropriate action, including isolation and treatment.
Implement biosecurity measures to prevent the introduction and spread of diseases.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for all livestock.
Prepare and submit reports on vaccination programs, health status, and any outbreaks of disease.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding animal health and vaccination
Train farm staff on proper vaccination techniques, health monitoring procedures, and biosecurity measures.
Supervise and support staff involved in the care and vaccination of livestock.
Ensure staff adhere to best practices in animal husbandry and welfare.
Plan and optimize livestock production schedules.
Assist in the development and implementation of feeding programs, housing management, and breeding plans.
Monitor and manage resources, including vaccines, medications, and equipment.
Work closely with veterinarians, regulatory agencies, and suppliers to ensure the availability and quality of vaccines.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the farm.
Educate farmers and stakeholders on best practices in livestock health and vaccination.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, or a related field.
Several years of experience in livestock management or veterinary services.
Knowledge of livestock species, their diseases, and vaccination protocols.
Skills:
Deep understanding of animal diseases, symptoms, and prevention methods.
Proficiency in administering vaccines and treatments to livestock.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage and supervise a team of farm workers effectively.
Attention to detail in maintaining accurate health and vaccination records.
Proficiency in using farm management software for record-keeping and reporting.
Ability to quickly identify health issues and implement appropriate interventions.
Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to educate and train staff and communicate effectively with veterinarians and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments.
Physical stamina to handle livestock and perform farm duties.
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Ability to live on the farm
