Job Title: Accounts Officer

Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting Line: Reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer

Role in Summary

• We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Account Officer to join our Accounts team. The Accounts Officer will work closely with the CFO to ensure accurate financial reporting, efficient financial operations, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Reporting Line:

• Reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Main Duties

• Assisting the CFO in day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Conducting regular audits and reconciliations of financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
• Collaborating with other departments to gather financial information and support decision-making processes.
• Monitoring financial transactions, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to internal controls.
• Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and variance analysis.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
• Supporting the CFO in financial analysis, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
• Assisting with tax compliance and coordinating with external auditors during the audit process.
• Staying up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and ensuring compliance in financial operations.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the CFO.

Personal Qualities & Qualifications
Job Holder must possess the following:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years work experience as an Accountant, preferably in a corporate setting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in advanced MS Excel and accounting software especially Zoho Books.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information.
• Experience with financial reporting and auditing processes.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
• Demonstrates sense of urgency & tenacious at work.

Required Experience:

• Must have 3 years plus cognate experience in a similar position from reputable big organization.

Age Bracket:

• 26 – 35 years of age.

Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 monthly.
