Description
Are you a tax specialist looking for an exciting opportunity to work in the dynamic field of tax planning and transfer pricing? Look no further! We are currently seeking a Tax Specialist to join our team at Dangote Industries Limited.
As a Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and monitoring tax planning strategies for our Corporate Headquarters and subsidiaries.
You will also play a vital role in ensuring that transfer pricing and other related compliance obligations are fulfilled by Dangote Group entities.
Additionally, you will provide valuable support to businesses across the group on various initiatives, contract review, and structuring for maximum tax efficiency.
Reporting directly to the Tax Director, some of your key responsibilities will include:
Strategically planning contractual obligations and transactions for tax purposes within the Dangote Industries Limited's corporate responsibilities.
Regularly reviewing the Group's Transfer Pricing Policy in line with the latest tax regulation developments.
Overseeing transfer pricing matters across the group and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to provide support on transfer pricing-related issues.
Coordinating the preparation of transfer pricing documentation to support intra-group transactions, ensuring compliance with local TP regulations.
Supporting business entities in transfer pricing audits and implementing action plans for full compliance.
Preparing Country-by-Country reporting to the Federal Inland Revenue Service and overseas notifications.
Conducting tax research and staying up to date with international tax laws that affect the Group's operations.
Providing tax advisory and planning for operational efficiency, transaction structuring, internal business restructuring, and new business initiatives.
Identifying tax planning opportunities within applicable legislation and ensuring a clear understanding of implementation strategies.
Identifying tax and transfer pricing risks in contracts and recommending amendments to mitigate those risks.
Participating in project planning for operating entities, offering insights and advice on pertinent tax issues.
Ensuring tax compliance processes are in place and updated for all taxes related to the businesses, both within and outside Nigeria.
Providing technical support to entities on tax litigation and appeal cases.
Keeping the Business Units informed of changes in tax and regulatory legislation, as well as any new enactments.
Preparing the annual budget for the Tax department and monitoring monthly spending.
Organizing tax trainings and functional meetings for the Group tax team.
Requirements
First Degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or related field
5 - 7 years of experience in Tax Practice with specialized skills in tax research and advisory
Membership of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) is a requirement
Additional membership in professional bodies like ICAN or ACCA is advantageous
A Postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Taxation is an added advantage
Strong knowledge of relevant tax policies, legislation, and regulations
Deep understanding of taxation laws, administration practices, and industry trends
Working knowledge of SAP (an added advantage)
Financial and illustrative modeling skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Analytical thinking and conceptualization abilities
