Job Description

• We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Fashion Tutor to join our client team. The successful candidatewill be responsible for providing comprehensive instruction and guidance to students pursuing careers in the fashion industry.
• Utilizing your expertise in fashion design, garment construction, and industry trends, you will help students develop the skills and knowledge necessary for success in this dynamic field.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive curriculum that covers both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. This might include fashion history, textile science, garment construction, pattern making, and fashion illustration.
• Conduct hands-on workshops where students learn essential skills such as sewing, pattern drafting, draping, and garment construction. Provide guidance and support as they work on projects to develop their technical abilities.
• Share insights into the fashion industry, including current trends, market demands, and career opportunities. Invite guest speakers from the industry to provide real-world perspectives and advice.
• Foster students' creativity and design skills through brainstorming sessions, mood boards, sketching exercises, and design challenges. Encourage experimentation and exploration of different styles and techniques.
• Teach students about different types of fabrics, materials, and their properties. Help them understand how to select appropriate materials for specific designs and purposes.
• Introduce students to relevant technology tools used in the fashion industry, such as computer-aided design (CAD) software, digital pattern making, and 3D modeling. Provide training and support to help students integrate these tools into their workflow.
• Guide students in building a professional portfolio showcasing their best work. Provide feedback and assistance in selecting and presenting projects that highlight their skills and creativity.
• Teach students about industry best practices, including quality standards, production processes, and ethical considerations. Emphasize the importance of sustainability and responsible practices in fashion design and production.
• Assist students in finding internships and job placements in the fashion industry. Provide guidance on resume writing, interview skills, and networking strategies to help them launch their careers successfully.
• Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and developments in the fashion industry. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and incorporate new knowledge and skills into the curriculum.
• Any other duties assigned by management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field with 3 years experience.
• Proven experience working in the fashion industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design work and technical skills.
• Previous teaching or training experience, preferably in a vocational or educational setting.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and CAD software.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for fashion and a genuine desire to inspire and empower the next generation of fashion professionals.

Salary
N100,000 - N200,000 / Month
