Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee all aspects of our company's fleet operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fleet management, logistics, and transportation, with a keen eye for optimizing efficiency and reducing costs. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our fleet of vehicles is well-maintained, compliant with regulations, and operating at peak performance to meet the demands of our business operations.
Job Description
The roles and responsibilities of this include but not limited to:
Fleet Maintenance and Repairs:
Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for all company vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Coordinate scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime and keep vehicles in optimal condition.
Oversee the procurement of parts and services from external vendors, negotiating contracts and agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
Driver Management:
Recruit, train, and supervise a team of drivers, ensuring they adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
Monitor driver performance, conduct regular evaluations, and provide coaching and feedback to improve efficiency and safety standards.
Manage driver schedules, routes, and assignments to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines.
Fleet Optimization:
Analyze fleet data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing overall fleet operations.
Implement strategies to optimize fuel consumption, route planning, vehicle utilization, and load capacity.
Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing vehicle operations, licensing, permits, and emissions standards.
Stay updated on industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices, and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
Prepare and submit required reports, documentation, and permits to regulatory authorities as necessary.
Qualification and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience in fleet management, transportation, or logistics, with a minimum of 3 years.
Strong knowledge of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve fleet performance.
Strong negotiation skills and financial acumen for budget management and vendor relations.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
