Job Overview

• We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee all aspects of our company's fleet operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fleet management, logistics, and transportation, with a keen eye for optimizing efficiency and reducing costs. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our fleet of vehicles is well-maintained, compliant with regulations, and operating at peak performance to meet the demands of our business operations.

Job Description

• The roles and responsibilities of this include but not limited to:

Fleet Maintenance and Repairs:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for all company vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime and keep vehicles in optimal condition.
• Oversee the procurement of parts and services from external vendors, negotiating contracts and agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.

Driver Management:

• Recruit, train, and supervise a team of drivers, ensuring they adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
• Monitor driver performance, conduct regular evaluations, and provide coaching and feedback to improve efficiency and safety standards.
• Manage driver schedules, routes, and assignments to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines.

Fleet Optimization:

• Analyze fleet data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing overall fleet operations.
• Implement strategies to optimize fuel consumption, route planning, vehicle utilization, and load capacity.

Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing vehicle operations, licensing, permits, and emissions standards.
• Stay updated on industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices, and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
• Prepare and submit required reports, documentation, and permits to regulatory authorities as necessary.

Qualification and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in fleet management, transportation, or logistics, with a minimum of 3 years.
• Strong knowledge of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve fleet performance.
• Strong negotiation skills and financial acumen for budget management and vendor relations.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
