Job Title: Senior Vice President - Technical (Solar Energy)

General Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Leadership:
Lead the company's technical efforts in the provision of the state-of-art power solutions across all business verticals: Residential, Commercial & Industrial, TELCo, SMEs, Mini-Grids and Utility Scale.
Ensure Engineering and design of Solar PV meets both clients needs and industry benchmark.
Lead Solution Architects to the preparation of technical proposals using the appropriate tools to determine the best configuration, material, and technologies for optimal performance
Supporting the development of commercial proposals by providing material and quantity-related information to the commercial and finance teams for price modeling.
Lead the technical team to ensure that proposals generally contain appropriate and accurate information/data and visual representation that effectively communicate the organization's value proposition to prospects.
Develop electrical Single-Line-Diagrams and 3d Visualization to aid initial system architecture and project cost budgeting.
Lead the Solution Architecture team to perform site assessment to capture customer load profiles, energy needs, location preferences, potential threats, and available infrastructure required for an optimal design.
Developing and managing a database of site assessments and proposals as a corporate asset for decision-making
Lead solar, battery and inverter sizing analyses whilst supporting a team of solution architects as well as peers from the Sales, Project Delivery, Customer Experience, Customer operations and Finance.
Design of Standardized solar-hybrid solutions that can be deployed with minimal customization across all business verticals
Support relevant efforts in the improvement on hardware developments, EMS and other R&D activities within the Embedded Engineering team
Lead efforts in equipment selection, product development and systems integration whilst supporting a team of engineers within the product development and systems engineering units.
Lead efforts in standard manufacturing and assembling processes by working with peers within the manufacturing team.
Lead techno economic analyses to compare the technical performance and commercial viability of different configurations.
Oversee participation in tender applications for Solar PV projects, from qualification to proposal submission
Identify and explore new market opportunities that contribute to business growth and sustainability
Project Management and Execution:
Oversee the entire life cycle of solar PV projects from project initiation to project closeout/handing over
Support the development of projects by overseeing technical and HSSE due diligence.
Oversee EPC contractors, vendors, service providers, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders during construction of projects.
Contribute to the enforcement of standard practices across all phases of projects
Draft the scope of work and estimate the respective project budget.
Create and distribute RFPs to potential subcontractors, establish evaluation metrics, and select winning proposals.
Manage contract negotiations, change orders, and other agreements with subcontractors and
Vendors, and oversee all subcontractors’ work in all phases.
Develop and maintain project timeline, identify critical path and key milestones for project’s success
Achieve Zero LTI for every deployment
Develop and enforce a standard Health, Safety and Environment policy
Collaborate with the Finance department for accurate and timely internal reporting, covering aspects like cash flow, inventory and revenue
Work closely with off-takers and clients to manage interfaces with construction works
Oversee project budgets and timelines
Support the projects transition into full-time operations and achieving handing over
Support Supply chain in end-to-end material procurement, management and forecast
Commercial Leadership:
Support the company's commercial efforts to build a robust pipeline of new business opportunities across all business verticals
Supporting the sales team with technical pre-sales activities
Supporting the commercial team with response to technical questions on RFPs
Oversee participation in tender applications for Solar PV projects, from qualification to proposal submission.
Support the commercial team with formulating and implementing strategies aimed at expanding the business portfolio across all business verticals.
Strategic Development:
Work closely with the CEO to formulate and implement strategies aimed at expanding the business’s footprint and sustainability both nationally and internationally.
Support Finance team to provide relevant input during technical due diligence as at when required.
Every other thing as requested by the CEO.
Requirement and Skills
You’ll be a good fit for this role if you have:
Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies and methods

Relevant technically and managerial related professional certificates
A member of an Engineering Society, preferably COREN
HSE Certificates, PMP and NEMSA will be an added advantage
Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
You currently lead a technically related team, run root cause analysis and provide technical project-based solutions in a telco, energy or utility sector. You lead from the front.
You get things done, you are an execution expert with relevant certifications.
You have a background in computer/electrical/mechanical engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience. You are an engineer at heart and in practice.
You have deployed, supported or managed projects scaling over 20,000 customers/service nodes across all system architectures: DC-Coupled, AC Coupled, AC-DC Coupled and Grid Tied
You are hard as nails - you don’t take no for an answer, You are also very empathetic to understand people need time to adapt.
Customers love you, you are really good with people, you work well with people - you are the life of the party.
You are proactive, and on point. You are excellence personified.
You have hands-on experience with electricity.
You are on top of your game, Ideally you are a sector thought leader.
You have a sound commercial acumen, with a data drive approach to decision making - an experience with P&L is really desirable.

You would rate yourself a minimum of 8 in any of the following tools (Ms Project/Asana/Basecamp/Jira/Excel)
