About the Role
Nairagram is looking for a dedicated and resourceful Finance Specialist to join our Finance Department.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in budget planning, financial forecasting, and conducting in-depth financial analyses.
This role offers the opportunity for exposure to various finance operations, including treasury functions, and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Job Description
Assist the Financial Controller in budget planning and management activities, including financial forecasting.
Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to inform strategic business decisions and identify efficiency opportunities.
Prepare financial reports and statements, ensuring timely and accurate communication of the company's financial position to relevant stakeholders.
Gain exposure to treasury functions, enhancing understanding of cash management, investment and debt management, and risk mitigation.
Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
Maintains the general ledger.
Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Collaborate closely with the Reconciliation to ensure accurate and complete financial records, coordinating regularly to verify transaction data.
Depending on organisational needs, may specialise in specific areas such as taxation, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc. Responsibilities will adapt to accommodate these specialisations as required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related course.
4 - 6 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in payments and/or fintech.
You have a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CFA, ACA and experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
You have already been working in an international fast growing scale-up environment with ideally a focus on B2B & B2C financial services.
You are highly analytical/data-driven and are comfortable dealing with high growth and complex business challenges.
You thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with a strong ability to work collaboratively with the cross- functional team and individually.
Possess good knowledge of successful finance and operations strategies and systems to assure tight controls and sound financial reporting, business planning, and forecasting.
You have a strong record in cost and expense management and in improving a company’s overall productivity and profitability.
You are excellent at relationship building and engaging with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.
You are known for being a creative problem solver with the attitude that there is no problem that cannot be solved, fixed, or mitigated.
You have a “can do” attitude. Owning a problem doesn’t scare you, but rather empowers you to take 100% responsibility for achieving our mission.

Excellent written and spoken communications skills with an ability to translate complex topics into easily digestible content and deliver presentations to a broad audience.
