We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Associate Coordinator: Proposal Development for Research and Data Collections
Serve as primary proposal writer, drafting, editing, and ensuring final production of competitive proposal for submission to donor; use writing skills to transform technical content and conceptual design into polished final proposals that are responsive to client guidelines.
Conduct background research on proposal opportunities to determine R-DATS’ competitiveness and strategic positioning; Undertake analytical and research tasks to support technical proposal development.
Provide the highest levels of administrative and management support across the proposal development lifecycle. Support efforts to recruit high-quality candidates and present them effectively in proposals;
Conduct compliance checks and gap analysis of proposals against client requirements;
Learn R-DATS’ proposal best practices and actively support the maintenance and continual improvement of proposal processes and related tools;
Support general HR, contracting and other office administrative supports as time permit.
Constantly seek to make R-DATS’ mission, vision and values central to our program design.
Lead handing over process of successful team to implementation team.
Coordinate performance assessments of supporting staff, offer advice.
Contribute to organizational development, implementation and represent R-DATS at events.
As assigned, research and write corporate and technical fact sheets, capability statements and provide writing expertise to other assignments as needed and/or as time permits.
Required Qualifications / Skills
Master's Degree or higher in Development Studies, Public Health, Social Sciences (i.e. Sociology, Demography, Psychology, etc.), or other related studies, from a reputable national/international university. Master’s degree in any of the above fields is desirable.
2-4 years relevant professional experience in effective proposal development and coordination. A minimum of 3-5 years' relevant professional experience for BSc degree holders in any of the above disciplines.
Proven track record in coordinating and managing successful bid/proposal process is a must (i.e. Demonstrated success in writing proposals that were subsequently funded).
Outstanding English writing skills and strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills. Excellent information and time management skills, with very strong attention to detail and ability to deliver when facing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Prior experience in proposal management, ideally in corporate research sector/INGOS is a must.
Familiarity with bid processes of UN, WB, USAID, and Govt. & or other international development agencies.
Desired Qualifications / Skills (Not mandatory):
Strong background in quantitative and/or qualitative research will serve as an advantage.
Prior experience managing complex quantitative and /or qualitative data collections, a strong advantage.
Prior experience in business development, ideally in corporate sector/INGOS is an advantage.
Familiarity with contemporary statistical and qualitative data analysis software preferred (i.e. Stata, R, SPSS, Python, NVIVO, ATLAS Ti, PowerBI, MS Excel etc.)
Strong capacity for developing budgets for development projects a plus (but not required).
Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and familiarity with project management software
Strong leadership and teamwork skills. Team management experience is a plus.
Individual must be strongly motivated and interested in rapidly producing results.
