Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to drive strategic alignment and optimise project delivery effectiveness.
Preferred candidate will have the ability to integrate agile/scrum and waterfall methodologies to ensure the successful alignment of projects with organisational and financial goals.
Job Duties
As a Senior Program Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the project management function, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
This position combines project leadership, agile/scrum and waterfall methodologies, and financial management responsibilities.
In this role, you will:
Provide strategic project leadership and direction for the PMO, overseeing the successful delivery of projects organisation-wide - ensuring optimal resource allocation, risk mitigation, and delivery of projects within defined scope, budget, and timelines.
Collaborate with executive leadership to align project objectives with the company’s strategic goals.
Develop and maintain project plans, tracking progress and adjusting strategies as needed.
Implement and manage agile/scrum and waterfall methodologies across the organisation and ensure adherence to best practices, driving efficiency and quality in project delivery.
Develop and manage the PMO budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources - monitor project financials, control costs and identify opportunities for savings.
Identify potential risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery and implement risk management processes and procedures.
Lead the integration of advanced project management tools and technologies to enhance project collaboration, efficiency, and decision-making capabilities.
Engage with stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations. Communicate project status, updates, and key milestones effectively.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the PMO.
Provide coaching to enhance professional development and performance.
Job Requirements
Experience & Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
PMP certification and Safe/Scrum certification is highly desirable
Minimum of 8 years of senior-level experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully leading large-scale, complex projects and project teams in e-procurement or related industries
Proven track record of successfully managing projects with budgets exceeding hundreds of millions USD
Quantifiable evidence of project outcomes, such as cost savings, revenue generation, or efficiency improvements resulting from previous project management experience
Ability to manage both non-iterative and iterative projects.
Experience in building and leading high-performing project teams
Competencies:
Ability to align project management practices with organisational goals and strategies
Proficiency in project management methodologies such as agile/scrum and waterfall, along with a deep understanding of project lifecycle management, risk assessment, and resource allocation
Strong financial acumen to oversee project budgets, financial forecasts, and cost control measures
Effective communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
Ability to lead organisational change initiatives by facilitating smooth transitions during project implementations
