Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Objective / Purpose
The Financial Controller plays a vital leadership role by providing strategic financial direction and oversight for the organization.
This position is responsible for the financial health and well-being of the company, ensuring effective financial management, strategic planning , and compliance with all financial regulations.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Supervises: Finance Analyst/ Junior Accountant
Responsibilities
Develop and implement long-term financial strategy aligned with FGT's business objectives.
Oversee financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and risk assessment.
Lead financial modeling and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Analyze market trends for identifying financial risks and opportunities.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, complying with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Manage relationships with auditors and internal controls for compliance.
Implement revenue collection procedures and oversee Finance and Revenue Operations Team.
Establish processes for revenue recognition and cash flow optimization.
Develop investment strategies for excess cash and maintain liquidity for operations.
Recruit, develop, and retain top financial talent to support FGT's growth.
Foster collaboration across departments to ensure organizational alignment.
Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
Development and implementation of a sound financial strategy that supports business objectives.
Accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with all regulations, including tax.
Effective management of cash flow and financial resources, including optimizing collections and investments.
Proactive identification and mitigation of financial risks.
Improved collections efficiency and timely revenue recognition.
Building high-performing Finance and Revenue Operations Teams that drive strategic value.
Key Skills and Competencies
Certified Chattered Accountant (ICAN) designation or equivalent professional qualification.
Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, financial modeling, risk management, and tax regulations.
Strong understanding of international financial reporting standards (IFRS)
Proven ability to develop and implement strategic financial plans.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate others.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
