Job Title: Hairdressing and Wig Making Tutor for Adolescents and Young People
Location: Mushin, Lagos

Duration: 3 months
Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Hairdressing and Wig-Making Tutor to join our team, specializing in working with adolescents and young children. This role involves providing exceptional hairdressing services and educating young clients in various aspects of hair care, wig care and installation, hygiene, and styling techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hairdressing, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in nurturing the confidence and creativity of young individuals.
Key Responsibilities
Hairdressing Services:
Provide a range of hairdressing services, including hair matting, braiding, hair extension fixing, wig fixing, wig maintenance, styling, coloring, and treatments tailored to the needs of adolescents and young children.
Ensure all hairdressing techniques and procedures are performed safely and effectively.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Education and Training:
Develop age-appropriate educational materials and resources on hair care, hygiene, and styling techniques.
Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions with young clients to teach them proper hair care practices and basic styling skills.
Demonstrate techniques and provide hands-on guidance to help clients learn and practice hairstyling.
Client Consultation:
Conduct thorough consultations with young clients and their guardians to understand their hair care needs, preferences, and any special considerations.
Educate clients and guardians on suitable hair care products and maintenance routines for different hair types and styles.
Mentorship and Support:
Serve as a positive role model and mentor to young clients, fostering their self-esteem, confidence, and creativity.
Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to help clients develop their hairstyling skills and express their personal style.
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with clients, guardians, and team members to ensure a positive and supportive environment.
Collaborate with other staff members to organize workshops, events, and educational programs aimed at promoting hair care awareness among adolescents and young children.
Qualifications
A recognized Diploma / Higher Certificate / Certificate in hairdressing from a reputable training or technical institution.
Additional Competencies:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and connect with young persons.
The ability to transfer knowledge effectively so that trainees can adapt to different hair styling techniques.
Passion for the hairdressing profession and a commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends and techniques.
Experience in running a hair salon or managing a team of hairdressers.
Good leadership and mentoring skills.
Extensive experience in the hairdressing industry and a strong understanding of hair care principles, techniques, and products.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with adolescents and young people.
Creative flair and the ability to inspire and encourage young individuals to express themselves through hairstyling.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to undergo background checks and any necessary certifications related to working with children.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate the schedules of young clients and their guardians.
