Position Overview

• As a Bar Waiter / Waitress, you play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our bar patrons. You will take orders, serve drinks, and ensure customer satisfaction in a lively and fast-paced environment. Your friendly demeanor and attention to detail will contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables or bar stools.
• Provide menus, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Take drink and food orders accurately and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system promptly.
• Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks, following standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Monitor bar inventory levels and communicate with bartenders to ensure timely restocking of supplies.
• Check identification to verify legal drinking age and refuse service to intoxicated or underage individuals as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including wiping down counters, tables, and bar stools, and disposing of empty glasses and bottles.
• Handle cash, credit card, and electronic payment transactions accurately and securely.
• Collaborate with bartenders, kitchen staff, and other team members to ensure efficient service and timely delivery of orders.
• Anticipate guest needs and proactively address any concerns or special requests to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Upsell additional items, such as appetizers or desserts, to increase sales and enhance guest satisfaction.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling and storage of food and beverages.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to alcohol service and responsible beverage consumption.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the bar area, cleaning equipment, and restocking supplies.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required to stay updated on menu changes, promotions, and other relevant information.

Qualifications

• Interested candidates should possess an FSLC, NCE or OND qualification with 2 years work experience.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred, but not required.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Basic math skills for processing orders and handling payments.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask efficiently.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/move objects as needed.
• Knowledge of alcoholic beverages and cocktail preparation techniques is a plus.
• Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS) is advantageous.

Salary
N30,000 - N35,000 monthly.
