Head of Product Management at Mkobo Microfinance Bank Limited

MKOBO is a fully licensed Microfinance bank by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Lagos, Nigeria. MKOBO was conceived to help solve consumers’ need for access to short-term emergency credit. Our goal is to provide access to short term unsecured loans, which is easily accessible. We cater to the demography currently undeserved by the Commercial banks in our aim to help increase financial inclusion of the Nigerian population.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Product Management

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive product roadmap aligned with the company's overall business objectives and growth strategy
• Conduct thorough market research and user research to identify customer needs and opportunities for product innovation.
• Define product vision, strategy, and features for consumer and SME banking products (savings, loans, earned wage access).
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to translate product vision into high-quality, user-friendly products.
• Manage the product development lifecycle, including product ideation, prioritization, development, launch, and post-launch optimization.
• Own the product roadmap and backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and efficient resource allocation.
• Develop and implement a robust product analytics strategy to measure product performance and user engagement
• Work closely with marketing and sales teams to ensure effective product positioning and go-to-market strategies.
• Lead product efforts for the company's expansion into new African markets, tailoring offerings to specific regional needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Product Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in product management within FinTech or a related industry.
• Proven experience in launching successful FinTech products with a strong user focus.
• Experience with user research methodologies and user experience (UX) best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English and a strong understanding of the Nigerian business environment.

You Are:

• A seasoned product leader with a minimum of 8 years of experience in building and launching successful FinTech products.
• Proven track record of translating user needs and market trends into innovative and user-centric products that drive growth.
• Deep understanding of the Nigerian and African financial landscape, particularly the needs of consumers and SMEs.
• A data-driven leader with strong analytical skills and experience in utilizing user research and product metrics to inform decision-making
• An excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing).
• A strong advocate for user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.
• A passionate believer in financial inclusion and the power of FinTech to revolutionize access to financial services in Africa.
