Job Title: Grocery Store Supervisor

Job Summary

• We are looking for an experienced and dedicated store supervisor to supervise our retail grocery store. In this role, your duties will include overseeing employees and finances, controlling the quality of products and services and delivering exceptional customer service by managing the day to day ordering, receiving, stocking and displaying of related products to maximize profits. Maintains store cleanliness and  adheres to all food safety processes.
• To ensure success as a store supervisor, you should exhibit demonstrable managerialcompetency, and excellent communication skills. Store Supervisors are natural leaders with excellent business management skills and a passion for customer service.

Job Responsibilities

• Overseeing salespeople, cashiers, shelf stockers, and other employees.
• Keeping records of expenditure, sales figures, and employee performance.
• Evaluating the supply and availability of stocks, and profit-margins.
• Implementing measures to avoid stock damages, theft, and wastage.
• Monitoring shelve stocks and product displays, and the general appearance of the store.
• Investigating market trends and offering products that would appeal to customers.
• Addressing customers' requests, comments, and complaints.
• Motivating employees to achieve targets.
• Reviews sales goals, supply costs, stock loss/shrink results and goals
• Prepares, packages, stocks store and display merchandise appropriately
• Price change compliance
• Food safety compliance
• Ordering of manual ordered items
• Supervises, trains and manages the store staff.
• Ensure all products are accurately priced and sales prices are maintained and up to date
• Provides consultation to customers when needed regarding consumer product.
• Ensure the backroom and butchery is neat and organized
• Meet or exceed sales target
• Ensures the team members are thoroughly trained in all aspect of their jobs.
• Promotes a safe work environment
• Training new staff members and scheduling shifts.
• Other daily tasks as required

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred).
• Must have 4-10 years experience.
• Proven experience as a Supermarket Manager or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of retail industry trends and best practices.
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation regulations and standards.
• Strong understanding of financial management principles.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.

Person Specification:
The candidate must, on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office, possess:

• Strong leadership and management skills to effectively lead and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, customers, and suppliers effectively.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks.
• Sound financial management skills to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address issues promptly and effectively.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory management and compliance with regulations.
• Knowledge of supermarket operations, including merchandising, inventory control, and customer service.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and software for inventory management, sales reporting, and other administrative tasks.

Salary
N50,000 - N63,000/ Month.
