Job Description

• Our company is looking for a Generator Mechanic / Facility Officer a male for gender balance, to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll organize and oversee all Generators in all our sites, fleet of vehicles and other facility/ administrative functions to ensure our operations run as efficiently as possible. You must be able to drive and a have a valid driver’s license.

• Understand the generator run time and service, understand the Ac run time and services, understand the vehicles in the fleet service cards and keep tabs on all repairs on the fleet.
• Generator Mechanics/ Facility Officer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repair generators for an organization's facility. Their duties include troubleshooting issues relating to the generator's electrical and mechanical systems through diagnostic tests, performing site testing and engine servicing, conduct preventative maintenance, and ensures all work complies with health and safety protocols. They perform housekeeping on company vehicles and customer sites, compile accurate work documentation, assist in supplies procurement, and contribute to cost and material budgeting. Generator Mechanics write a progress report and maintain activity logs.

Requirements

• Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (MIT), or similar.
• A minimum of two years' experience as a mechanical technician in a related industry.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Proficiency in mechanical design and diagnostic testing software.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Great organizational and time management abilities.
• Willingness to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs outside of business hours.
• Good organization, time management and scheduling skills
• Experienced with repair, maintenance of Cummins and Perkins generator.
• Basic bookkeeping experience, especially in accounts payable/receivable
• Very experienced in using the computer and the Microsoft packages
• Ability to Manage all the external vendors for vehicles and the facility in general
• Should have a fair knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to multitask
• Age is between 35 and 38 years old

Skills and Qualifications:
He should have the following skills and qualifications to be successful in their role:

• Trouble-shoot electrical components to include, ignition points, alternators, regulators, and solenoids.
• General mechanics shop consists of troubleshooting and repairs of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, paint and plastering.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns and repair malfunctioning HVAC systems and components; utilize measuring and testing instruments.
• Involve in confine space entry with compliance to OSHA regulations and guidelines.
• Follow all rules and safety guidelines according to union, plant, and OSHA regulations.
• Request assistance from plumbers, painters, HVAC technicians, carpenters, and electricians when necessary.
• Repair small motor generators, troubleshoot equipment by adjusting valves, carburetors ignition points, alternators, regulators, and solenoids.
• Maintain and repair facility electrical plumbing and hardware equipment.
• Perform repairs & maintenance accurately by interpreting equipment blueprints and schematics.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to avoid costly repairs and minimizing man power.
• Document repairs, modifications and inspections in accordance with FAA requirements on both paper and in an automate maintenance information database.
• Operate, PMCS all army vehicles including utility truck, aerial man lift, loaders, snow plow.
• Assisting with mechanical design and maintenance tasks.
• Installing and performing diagnostic tests on mechanical systems.
• Developing and implementing mechanical maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns.
• Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs.
• Documenting processes and maintaining mechanical service records.
• Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies.
• Optimizing mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.
• Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment.
• Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations.

Salary
N50,000 - N90,000 / month.
