Taimako Community Development Initiative (Taimako-CDI/TAIMAKO-CDI) is a non-profit, non-ethnic, non-political and non-religious organization, whose major objectives is improving rural and urban communities through developmental and self –help driven programmes, initiatives and activities. The organization has functional and equipped Offices in Bauchi, Borno and Yobe States, North-East, Nigeria.
Taimako-CDI was established in 2008 and registered with the Bauchi, Borno and Yobe State Ministries of Youth and Social Development under club and association matters. Taimako-CDI was also registered with the Federal Government of Nigeria under the Corporate Affairs Commission (C.A.C.), Abuja on 23rd May 2014.
Taimako Community Development Initiative (TCDI) is implementing an NHF-supported Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) project in Gujba LGA of Yobe State. To this effect, we are recruiting to fill the position below:
Lead the design and implementation of protection activities for girls and vulnerable young women:
As a Protection Officer, you would take a proactive role in designing and implementing programs specifically tailored to address the protection needs of girls and vulnerable young women.
Working closely with relevant stakeholders, including community leaders, government agencies, and NGOs, to develop holistic and culturally sensitive protection interventions that promote the safety, well-being, and empowerment of girls and young women.
Conduct assessments to identify protection risks and vulnerabilities:
Utilizing a participatory and rights-based approach, to conduct comprehensive assessments and identify the specific protection risks, vulnerabilities, and needs of girls and vulnerable young women within the target communities.
Engage directly with beneficiaries through interviews, focus group discussions, and community consultations to gather qualitative and quantitative data on their experiences, concerns, and priorities.
Develop and implement protection strategies and action plans:
Consult with relevant stakeholders, to develop tailored protection strategies and action plans aimed at addressing the identified risks and vulnerabilities.
Ensuring that protection interventions are integrated into broader development and humanitarian programs to maximize impact and sustainability.
Provide direct support and assistance to beneficiaries:
As a frontline practitioner, you would provide direct support and assistance to girls and vulnerable young women who are at risk of or have experienced violence, exploitation, or abuse.
Providing individualized counseling, case management, legal assistance, shelter, medical care, or other forms of support based on their specific needs and circumstances.
Empowering beneficiaries to exercise their rights, make informed decisions, and access available resources and services to mitigate risks and improve their safety and well-being.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of protection interventions:
Liaise with relevant stakeholders and partners
Requirements
Proven experience in similar functions desirable.
Experience in case management
Degree in psychology, social sciences, public health, or nursing required.
Two years and above experience in a similar position or related
Flexible and willing to work in rural communities especially field-based
Attended training on protection and is aware of GBV issues.
Supervisory experience.
Fluency in English, additional fluency in Hausa an
