Job Summary

• The English Teacher with a focus on diction and creative writing will be responsible for instructing students in the nuances of language, with a special emphasis on refining pronunciation and fostering creative expression through writing.
• This role demands a deep understanding of diction, along with a passion for cultivating imaginative and eloquent writing skills.

Responsibilities

Diction and Pronunciation:

• Teach students proper pronunciation, enunciation, and clarity in spoken English.
• Conduct exercises and activities to enhance diction and oral communication skills.

Creative Writing Instruction:

• Develop and deliver engaging lessons that inspire creativity and encourage diverse forms of written expression.
• Guide students in the creation of original works, including essays, poetry, short stories, and other literary forms.

Grammar and Language Mechanics:

• Provide comprehensive instruction in English grammar, syntax, and language conventions.
• Offer feedback on written assignments to help students refine their language skills.

Literary Analysis:

• Analyze and discuss literary works, exploring themes, symbolism, and narrative techniques to deepen students' understanding and appreciation of literature.

Individualized Feedback:

• Provide constructive feedback on student work, focusing on both content and style.
• Encourage revision and refinement of writing projects to improve overall quality.

Curriculum Development:

• Collaborate with colleagues to design and update curriculum materials, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices.
• Integrate innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning experiences.

Classroom Management:

• Establish a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Manage student behavior and address any disruptions in a fair and consistent manner.

Professional Development:

• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about current trends and best practices in English language instruction and creative writing.

Qualifications / Experiences

• Bachelor's Degree in English, Education, or a related field with a focus on language and creative writing.
• Teaching certification or licensure in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Exceptional proficiency in English language, with a demonstrated expertise in diction and creative writing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective classroom management and student engagement.
• Prior experience in teaching English, with a demonstrated track record of successful instruction in diction and creative writing.
• Experience in developing and implementing creative writing programs or initiatives is highly desirable.
• The ideal candidate should possess a deep love for language, a talent for creative expression, and the ability to inspire students to communicate effectively and artistically through the written word.
