The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) is the government agency with the mandate to coordinate the surveillance, detection and response to infectious disease outbreaks. Over the last three years, NCDC has deployed a new tool for disease surveillance. The Surveillance, Outbreak Response Management and Analysis System (SORMAS) is a system jointly developed between the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) to improve disease surveillance as well as detection and management of outbreaks and thus strengthen the public health service in Nigeria.

Job Summary
NCDC is recruiting two Admin Officers to join the Global Fund- COVID-19 Response Mechanism (C19RM) funded IPC project. The successful candidates will support the National Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Program domiciled within the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) in coordinating national IPC activities.
The Administrative Officer will support the National Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Program to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of IPC projects funded through the Global Fund's COVID-19 Response Mechanism (C19RM).
The successful candidate will be responsible for various administrative tasks to support project activities and contribute to their overall success.
This position shall have a 30% travel expectation to support program activities.
Main Activities and Responsibilities
Knowledge Generation:
Create, organize, and maintain project documentation.
Support office operations, such as managing supplies and coordinating meetings.
Manage project correspondence, including emails and phone calls, providing a professional and helpful response to stakeholders.
Assist in managing the project's budget, including tracking expenses, processing invoices, and ensuring accurate financial records.
Plan and coordinate events, workshops, and meetings, including logistics, materials, and participant communication.
Provide administrative support to project staff, including scheduling and travel arrangements.
Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to assist the Project Manager and senior staff in decision-making.
Perform other duties as may time to time assigned by the National Program Coordinator/Project Manager.

Participate and support other NCDC's broader mission objectives.

Support storing and archiving related outreach materials that contribute to learned society/conference events, journals, and grant reviews based on data.

Essential Criteria
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration or any of the Social Sciences with at least 3 to 5 years of administrative experience
Proven experience in administrative roles.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Positive and professional attitude, including working well in a team setting.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team of diverse stakeholders.
Desirable Criteria:
Good command of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
