Job Title: Restaurant Accountant

Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Purpose of the Job

• In a restaurant, many business transactions happen every day today. The accountant needs to track the transaction and prepare a report regarding the financial status of a business through the balance sheet, profit and loss account, and cash flow statement.
• All major decisions of a restaurant are taken based on accounting records, and it clearly shows the financial position of the business.
• The professional is responsible for recording, interpreting, classifying, analyzing, reporting, and summarizing financial data.

Job Summary

• We are looking to hire a successful candidate who has a Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• The candidate needs to prepare and analyze a variety of financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
• He/She needs to review and audit the restaurant's transactional activity and provide communication and general support.
• The job responsibilities include creating, maintaining, and providing various reports and summaries including operational drive and trend to the operations manager/supervisor, assist in developing compliances of accounting procedures, system, and practices.
• Ensure to resolve discrepancies found in weekly reporting and ensuring resolution of outstanding issues.
• He/She will propose and implement process improvement and complete monthly closing process.

Job Responsibilities

• Providing financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data
• Preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries by analyzing account information
• Documentation of financial transactions by updating account data
• Calculate employee paychecks for each pay period and review and prepare tax obligations.
• Recommending financial actions and summarizing the current financial status
• Collecting data, preparing balance sheet, and profit and loss statement
• Handling financial transactions by auditing documents
• Maintaining accounting control by preparing policies and procedures
• Coordinating financial issues by collecting and analyzing accounting data.
• Securing financial data by completing database backup.
• Maintaining financial security by following internal controls.
• Preparing payment by verifying documentation and requesting disbursement.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Extensive knowledge about data entry management.
• Punctual, reliable and must have strong communication skills.
• Knowledge about MS Office, Excel and other applications.
• Knowledge of the use of accounting software
• Strong verbal and oral communication skills
• Self-motivated and strong analytical skills
• Attention to detail, prioritization skill and time management.
• Experience in retail or restaurant accounting.

Salary
N150,000 / month.
