St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is a 64 bed hospital located in Ogungbade off New Ife road Ibadan. St Dominic Catholic Hospital is the vision of Dominican Sisters of St Catherine of Siena (Italy). We offer various medical services such as: General medicine, internal medicine, O & G, Laboratory, Radiology, to mention just a few. The hospital is run in collaboration with foreign partners. We are registered and licensed by the Corporate Affairs Commission and the Ministry of Health. Also, we are accredited by the NHIA as both primary and secondary health care providers.

Job Title: Nursing Supervisor

Job Brief

• We are looking for a qualified nursing supervisor to oversee patients and manage the nursing team of our facility.
• Our ideal candidate must have solid experience as a registered nurse and is able to handle stressful situations. This position also requires team management skills and a problem-solving attitude. Further training in management or administration would be a bonus.
• Ultimately, our ideal candidate should be able to ensure smooth nursing operation at ourfacility through day-to-day management and long term planning.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate nurse schedule
• Assign patients to nurses
• Ensure adherence to all relevant nursing standards
• Maintain quality assurance of nursing documentation and client records
• Create reports for senior management
• Ensure all nurses follow policies and procedures
• Educate and train new nurses
• Evaluate nurses’ engagement and performance
• Ensure compliance with nursing policies and procedures
• Inform patients' family members about medical procedures and doctors’ instructions
• Provide psychological and emotional support to patients and their family and friends
• Provide clinical expertise in the management of medical and psychiatric emergencies
• Keep records of nurses’ files, patients’ cases and procedures.

Requirements and Skills

• B.Sc or Diploma in Nursing
• Previous working experience as a Nursing Supervisor for (3-10) year(s)
• Any additional certification in healthcare administration will be considered an advantage
• Valid nursing license
• In-depth knowledge of hospital procedures
• Outstanding patient management skills
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Great organizational and time management
• Problem solver with a positive attitude
