Achievers Improved Health Initiative is a non profit organization founded in 2014, to address the health and rights needs of diverse marginalized/minority persons in Nigeria. This was in response to the effect of the syncretism of culture and religion in our context that exacerbates their lived experiences, leaving them more vulnerable to stigma and discrimination.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Kano
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and mentor AIHI finance Officers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Conduct regular performance reviews and professional development initiatives.
Identify and assess financial risks and implement appropriate measures to mitigate them.
Develop and maintain an effective internal control environment.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Communicate financial information to the Executive Director, Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
Utilize financial software and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Stay abreast of technological advancements in financial management.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Master's Degree is an added advantage
Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA is highly desirable.
Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) is an added advantage
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Experience in non-profit organizations orYoung and Vulnerable persons entities is an advantage.
Proven track record of successfully managing financial operations and budgets.
Knowledge and Skills:
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, QUICK-BOOK, accounting principles, and reporting standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with Young and Vulnerable persons issues and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to convey financial information to diverse stakeholders, including those without a financial background.
Collaborative and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Leadership:
Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
Ability to inspire and motivate a finance team towards achieving AIHI’s goals.
Financial Management:
Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures.
Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
Monitor financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to the leadership team.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process and provide regular forecasts.
Collaborate with program managers to ensure alignment of budgets with AIHI goals.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Coordinate audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.
Grant Management:
Manage financial aspects of grants, including budget development, reporting, and compliance.
Work closely with program managers to track grant expenditures and outcomes.
