Job Description
As a Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our company's operations and processes comply with internal policies and external regulations.
You will be responsible for monitoring and assessing compliance risks, developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures, and providing training and guidance to employees.
We are looking for a proactive and analytical individual who is capable of working independently and collaboratively across departments and branches.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Monitor and assess compliance risks across all areas of the organization, including operations, finance, and human resources.
Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
Conduct regular compliance reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of existing controls and identify areas for improvement.
Investigate compliance violations and incidents, and develop corrective action plans to address deficiencies and prevent recurrence.
Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance policies, procedures, and best practices.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including management and department heads, to address compliance issues and implement corrective measures.
Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and ensure that the organization remains in compliance with changing requirements.
Prepare and submit compliance reports to management and regulatory agencies as required.
Serve as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies, responding to inquiries and facilitating audits and inspections.
Requirements / Qualifications
HND/ Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification such as Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or internal audit, preferably in a retail or multi-branch environment.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks, and consumer protection laws.
Experience working in a retail setting is required.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex compliance issues and develop practical solutions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and management.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Availability to move around to different branches located in Victoria Island, Lekki, and Festac is needed.
