Job Description
The Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture Technical Coordinator, manages and leads the NSA team consisting of at least a Program Officer and/or a Senior Program Officer, and in coordination with other themes, carries out program activities that contribute to the implementation of the value-chain extension approach.
Responsibilities and Duties
Lead development of NSA program work plan (monthly/quarterly/annual), budget, and
partnerships.
Conduct, analyze, and report on NSA needs assessment and contribute to baseline survey in selected sites in collaboration with other themes.
Analyze and develop an extension program to promote improved postharvest handling, storage, and other value-adding technologies, including the development of off-farm agro-processing enterprises and improving nutrition for rural families.
Working with NSA experts to conduct research and make publications related to Nutrition-sensitive agriculture.
Plan, organize, coordinate, and conduct training on NSA for Subject Matter Specialists (SMSs)/ Extension Agents (EAS) and farmers, especially women, youth, and people living with disabilities (PwDs).
Promote initiatives to ensure networking and collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, community groups, and other relevant stakeholders on matters related to NSA.
Analyze the technical performance and economic viability of NSA extension models promoted.
Develop NSA training materials for use by the Extension agents, CBFs, and farmers under the guidance of the DCD/CD.
Provide feedback to colleagues and partners on technology selection, performance, and impacts through demonstrations, meetings, and reports.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual technical reports and submit them to CD and DCD.
Supervise and evaluate staff, and train them in relevant topics to update and improve their technical expertise.
Collect information on other donors on NSA and write project proposals in consultation with DCD/CD.
Participate in fundraising (proposal writing), and lead the development of MoUs.
Promote synergy with other components along the value chain
Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Education Background and Experience
M.Sc Degree in Nutrition, Post-harvest Management, Food Technology, or any other relevant education with a focus on nutrition
At least ten years of experience in the relevant field, respectively
Competence:
English Proficiency: Proficient (Especially writing skills)
Microsoft Office: intermediate knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Econometric and statistical analysis and reporting skill
Knowledge of Postharvest technologies and food system analysis
Agri-business skills
Ability to develop relevant partnership and networking
Project management skills
