Ikore is an international development organization proffering innovative solutions to drive sustainable social and enterprise development. Working in economically deprived places and vulnerable communities torn apart by instability across Nigeria and providing solutions that support inefficient markets and communities is implementing an agricultural mechanization service intervention aimed at enhancing access of smallholder farmers to affordable and sustainable mechanization services in Nigeria.
The project aims to create work opportunities for mechanization service providers, tractor operators, and others in the mechanization value chain. The project’s primary target is young men and women in peri-urban and rural communities, providing bundled mechanization services. Ultimately, the project focuses on capacity-building, affordable last-mile services, financial inclusion, technology integration, and policy enhancement.

Job Title: Communications and Media Manager (Tractrac)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Communications and Media Manager (TracTrac) will be responsible for managing all internal and external communications.
He/She will create, implement, and oversee content and messaging that effectively describes and promotes the project's activities and events.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the project's goals and objectives.
Create and manage content for various communication channels, including websites, social media platforms, newsletters, press releases, and internal communications.
Craft compelling and engaging messages that effectively describe and promote the project's activities, events, and achievements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and insights to create accurate and impactful communications materials.
Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels and materials.
Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of communication campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.
Manage media relations by building and maintaining relationships with journalists, bloggers, and relevant media outlets.
Proactively seek opportunities for media coverage and develop and distribute press releases and media kits.
Organize and manage events, including press conferences, webinars, workshops, and seminars.
Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, partners, and influencers to enhance the project's visibility and reach.
Monitor industry trends and news to identify opportunities for thought leadership and proactive communication.
Stay updated on emerging communication technologies and tools to enhance the project's communication efforts.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent and timely communication of key messages.
Support crisis communication efforts by developing and implementing communication plans and messages.
Provide guidance and support to team members regarding communication strategies, messaging, and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Social Sciences, or a related field. (Master's degree is a plus)
3 years of experience in communications, public relations, or media management roles.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Proven experience in developing and executing communication strategies and campaigns.
Knowledge of various communication channels and tools, including social media, websites, and traditional media.
Familiarity with content management systems and social media management platforms.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and media contacts.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Proficient in creating and editing content for different platforms, including press releases, articles, and social media posts.
Familiarity with design and multimedia tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva, is a plus.
Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in communication and media management.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Experience in the project's field or a related industry is desirable.
