Job Title: Medical Officer

Role Definition
The Medical Officer is responsible for consulting and examining patients, making diagnoses, conducting investigations, and providing appropriate treatment.
This role requires strong clinical judgment, efficient use of resources, and effective collaboration within the healthcare team.
Job Description
Take patients' medical history.
Conduct thorough physical examinations.
Make accurate diagnoses based on history and physical exams.
Prescribe and manage antibiotics judiciously.
Order and interpret laboratory tests appropriately.
Demonstrate the ability to make clinical judgments.
Utilize available resources efficiently and cost-effectively.
Handle emergency medical situations alongside other medical officers to ensure patient safety and security, with proper documentation of electronic health records.
Document patient records accurately on the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Ensure proper follow-up of patient results and reviews.
Initiate and actively participate in quality improvement measures.
Perform other functions as assigned by the Head of Clinical.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Proficiency in laceration repairs.
Consistent adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and processes.
Well-documented EMR notes on patients.
Successful follow-up of clients.
Completion of discharge summaries.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Writing comprehensive care plans in the EMR.
Conducting and documenting thorough physical exams, including allergy status.
Providing follow-up or return visits.
Requirements
Medical degree and current practicing license.
2 - 4 years relevant work experience.
Proven experience as a Medical Officer.
Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures.
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Job Competencies / Skills Requirements:
Proficient in suturing repairs.
Competent in the insertion of peripheral lines.
Capable of conducting developmental assessments of well children.
Adherence to laid-down protocols in disease management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Salary
N250,000 - N300,000 Monthly.
