Job Title: Senior Engineer, Asset Integrity
Location: Lagos
Key Objective
To champion Client asset integrity management for efforts involving pressure system equipment, structural equipment, inspection, and anomaly rectification activities.
To promote continuous improvement within Client's operations to prevent/minimize safety critical element (SCE) related integrity risks while increasing operational performance, leading to increased value of assets.
Maintain a working level control of OPEX/CAPEX spend related to asset integrity, i.e., budget versus actual spend, with emphasis on cost consciousness.
Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Be responsible and accountable in efforts related to the development, implementation and management of asset integrity strategies, methodologies, processes and routine activities, such as:
Responsible for the implementation of asset integrity strategies across all operating assets to ensure overall Asset Integrity goals of Client is met.
To integrate integrity inspection with Plant Maintenance, Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) and Process Safety functions.
Active participation for integrity inspection requirement from fabrication to de-commissioning, i.e., fabrication inspection, commissioning inspection, first-in-service-inspection, operational integrity inspection (i.e., time-based, risk-based), asset late life integrity inspection, etc.
Responsible for the generation of annual, mid-term and long-term asset integrity plans as required.
Support the Pressure System & Structure Integrity Management team on analysis of degradation trends, performing failure analysis, fitness-for-service (FFS) and reporting of inspection findings and engineering support for anomalies rectification.
Support the anomaly rectification team on introduction of new rectification methods, technology, material, etc.
Support and maintain execution schedule, database, and anomalies tracking for asset integrity related activities for Pressure System, Structure, and Pipeline risers.
To provide pragmatic support related to asset integrity Management of Change (MOC) & Anomaly Management tasks.
Deliver internal reporting required by Head of Asset Integrity. Ensure this is accurate, relevant, timely and clearly identifies areas of significant risks to facilities operations.
Manage activities of direct reports and contractors to achieve a standard of excellence in all areas related to asset integrity.
Promote and establish new technologies where appropriate. Collaborate with Joint Industry Consortia and partnerships to establish workplace innovation to manage asset integrity.
Participate in all Client SSHE programs such as safety meetings, safety engagement and workshops, training courses, etc. Provide relevant feedback to improve SSHE undertakings in asset integrity.
Interface and coordinate with relevant stakeholders; discipline engineers, maintenance, operations, and safety team to conduct technical Integrity assessments and associated failure analysis to resolve complex issues related to asset integrity.
Establish internal audits to ensure asset integrity related performance management are met.
Requirements
Minimum of 15+ years diversified & practical experience in Asset Integrity Management for oil and gas industry.
Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent, preferably with Honours.
Professional engineering certification, experience and intimate working knowledge with international codes, standards, recommended practice such as ASME VIII, ASME B31.3, ASME PCC 2, API RP 510, API RP 570, API 598, API 579, API RP 583, API RP 571, API RP 2SIM, and any other professional certification related to Asset Integrity is a mandatory requirement.
Experience in offshore structure integrity management, i.e., Structure Asset Life Extension, anomaly management, inspection, etc. is an added advantage.
Experience in pressure equipment integrity management, i.e., risk-based inspection, fitness-for-service assessment, asset life extension, anomaly management, inspection, etc. is an added advantage.
Well experienced in most if not all readily available inspection methods and techniques including advanced and specialized non-destructive/destructive testing (NDT/DT).
Knowledge and experience in implementation and operations of Asset Integrity Management Software Systems.
Experienced in management of contractors, track record of project accomplishment including high level of safety performance, and leadership of action-focused teams.
