Senior Lawyer at an International Commercial and Dispute-resolution Law Firm

We are an international commercial and dispute resolution law firm which advises its clients on a broad spectrum of legal areas including Energy, Banking and Finance, Corporate law, Shipping, Regulatory, Government Affairs and Dispute Resolution. The Firm’s offices are located in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja. Our legal know-how, and expertise has been developed over the years from advising businesses, foreign investors, financial institutions, governments and public sector bodies.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Lawyer

Location: Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

• Developing and leading corporate legal strategy to promote and protect the company's matters
• Developing and leading corporate compliance programs
• Overseeing delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies and priorities
• Maintaining proper corporate interactions with the relevant local, state and federal governmental bodies, legislatures and the community at large.

Requirements

• Minimum of LL.B Degree from a reputed University, with a minimum of second class upper. - LL.M Degree
• 10 years’ minimum experience of post-qualification to have worked in a corporate law firm.
• Must be based in Port Harcourt
• Must have an advanced understanding of company operations, commercial transactions, research and litigation.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact across to the board and management with confidence and authority.
• Ability to deal with complex problems & ability in applying judgment and independent reasoning in situations where applicable precedence and laws may not exist.
