We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Human Resources Organizational Development Specialist with 5 - 7 years of expertise to join our dynamic HR team.
The OD Specialist will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing strategies to enhance organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and performance.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of organizational development principles, change management, and a passion for fostering a positive workplace culture.
Responsibilities
Performance Management:
Support the performance management process by assisting in goal setting, conducting performance reviews, and providing guidance on performance improvement plans.
Assist in developing strategies for continuous improvement.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and training and development.
Organize employee performance reviews
Utilize data and assessment outcomes for communication and to make continuous improvements for programs and services
Change Management:
Lead and support initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness, including culture realignment and development
Develop and implement change management plans to facilitate smooth transitions and minimize resistance.
Partner with line managers to manage organizational change effectively.
Employee Engagement:
Design and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
Conduct surveys, analyze results, and recommend actions to improve workplace morale.
Proactively partners with managers to identify and implement strategies to improve and maintain a positive, inclusive work environment
Conduct fact-finding reviews into workplace issues and complaints. Creates action plans to address issues uncovered in reviews.
Evaluate the effectiveness of programing, adjusts as needed for continuous program improvement.
Establish credibility and trust within the organisation
Leadership Development:
Collaborate with departmental leaders to identify leadership development needs.
Implement leadership development framework and initiatives
Design and implement programs to cultivate leadership skills and succession planning.
Training and Development
Identify training needs and coordinate employee training and development programs.
Design training plans, budget and curriculums
Collaborate with managers to address skill gaps and support career development.
Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to train and employee turnover rates
Talent Development:
Identify skill gaps within the organization and develop training and development programs to address those gaps.
Collaborate with departmental leaders to support employee growth.
Team Building:
Facilitate team-building activities and workshops to foster collaboration, communication, and a positive team culture.
Facilitate culturally responsive and inclusive communications and conflict resolution within work teams.
Builds and guides conversations and interventions that lead to productive work teams.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):
Collaborate with HR and leadership to advance DEI initiatives, ensuring an inclusive and equitable workplace.
Engage key stakeholders to develop and implement employee professional development programs to support equity, cultural competencies and the ability to interact productively in an increasingly diverse environment.
Recommend the development and implementation of metrics to track progress toward milestones that create a climate of inclusion.
Data Analysis:
Utilize HR metrics and analytics to assess the impact of organizational development initiatives.
Design interactive HR dashboards using data analytics tools like Excel, Power BI, and Tableau etc.
Make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
Performs other HR related duties as assigned by the Head, HR.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, or related fields.
Master’s degree in related field is required
5 - 7 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on organizational development and change management.
Relevant certification is required example CIPM, HRCI, SPHR, CIPD, AIHR
Expert use of data analytics tool like Excel and Power BI
Strong understanding of organizational development principles, change management methodologies, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to identify challenges and develop creative solutions.
Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and evaluate projects effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively with HR colleagues, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with HRIS, survey tools, and other technology platforms related to organizational development.
General Required Knowledge:
Applicable human resource program management principles, practices, methods, and procedures, including organizational development, Experience in a unionized environment and creating programming in alignment with collectively bargained agreements.
Current approaches to address contemporary issues of inclusion, social justice, diversity, access, and equity
Best practices for assessing training needs and developing and delivering training content
Conflict resolution techniques
Application of general HR functions
Understands labor laws and disciplinary procedures
Understands methods to conduct research and analysis.
