We are seeking an accomplished and strategic financial leader with a minimum of 15 years of experience to join our executive team as the Head of Finance.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the organization and ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
As the Head of Finance, you will provide strategic financial guidance, lead financial planning and analysis, and contribute to the overall success and growth of the company.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience crafting financial strategies and managing accounting teams.
Responsibilities
Financial Strategy:
Develop and implement the financial strategy of the organization in alignment with business objectives.
Provide leadership in financial decision-making and contribute to the overall strategic planning process.
Approve or reject budgets
Evaluate and decide on investments
IFRS Compliance:
Possess and apply advanced knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Ensure the organization's financial reporting is in full compliance with IFRS guidelines.
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
Lead the FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Provide insights and recommendations to enhance financial performance.
Forecast monthly, quarterly and annual results
Recommend cost-reducing solutions
Financial Reporting:
Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
Conduct profit and cost analyses
Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and manage financial risks.
Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure the financial stability of the organization.
Cash Flow Management:
Implement effective cash flow management strategies to optimize working capital and ensure liquidity for ongoing operations.
Allocate resources and manage cash flows
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Provide guidance on career development and training opportunities.
Supervise a team of Accountants
Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate financial performance and forecasts to key stakeholders, including the executive team, board of directors, and external partners.
Develop secure procedures to maintain confidential information
Attend board meetings, managing senior stakeholders, delivering commercial insight to help increase profitability and maintain growth
Consult board members about funding options
Tax Planning:
Collaborate with tax professionals to develop tax-efficient strategies and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Liaise with regulators and Tax Bureau and take full responsibility for accurately preparing and timely submitting all relevant fillings/reports
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or advanced certification e.g. CFA, ACCA, CPA is a plus.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
Proven expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), with a track record of ensuring compliance in a complex business environment.
In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping.
Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and contribute to the development and execution of organizational strategies.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing finance team.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; Ability to communicate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in accounting software.
