The Role & Responsibilities
The BDM is focused on growing the company through a focus on sales growth and results.
The BDM is laser sharp focused on performance and is a tactical mastermind who is strong at execution.
You think of strategies to meet revenue targets, implement those strategies, track performance, report on that performance, and improve the process until perfection.
Collaborates with Manager to develop Sales Strategy Development, you understand the revenue targets, build strategies to achieve them, implement those strategies, track performance, and enhance the performance until you can drive revenue traction like clockwork. You bring discipline to the focus of achieving sales targets and are not satisfied with substandard sales results. Over achievement is your default modus operandi.
Accountable for developing and implementing strategies to significantly grow the number of Active Closing Solar Partners/ Agents (Distributed Energy Providers [DEP] using the SunFi platform to transition consumers to solar - they earn commissions, growth and their businesses partnering with SunFi)
Collaborating with leadership to select cities to grow to, and districts within cities to target, build trust centers, fulfillment centers, and solar sales and installation capacity
Manages the Sales Team under the direction of the Sales Manager of SunFi. Seeks out coaching from the Sales Manager and collaborates with the Sales Manager to achieve sales targets
Conducts Performance Reviews for Sales Team Members in coordination with Sunfi’s Sales Manager
Responsible for continuous relationship management of the DEP, stakeholders, and end consumers, ensuring SunFi meets and exceeds its expectations consistently
Partners with User-Services team, Technology team, People Operations team, and Finance team to ensure DEP and End Customer success and retention
Responsible for working with your Manager and team to ensure KPIs used to project and measure platform DEP traction are established and tracked.
Develop, maintain, and cultivate close relationships with decision-makers, leaders, and stakeholders of designated clients and partners. Understand their business strategies, priorities, needs, and business processes, present them with strategic solutions, and advise them on how SunFi’s service can improve the lives of their employees.
Accountable for supporting the development of the platform’s cluster strategy to efficiently unlock clusters of similar demand (e.g. employees of a company, businesses in a market, people in a community that could benefit from solar)
Collaborate with product, strategy, and engineering teams to identify, prioritize, and execute growth opportunities.
Driving and achieving business targets, monitoring business results of designated clients, anticipating challenges, and taking proactive measures to accomplish targets
Initiate and execute sales and customer acquisition initiatives as management approves
Develop and execute strategies to scale the company’s product by gaining adequate market share and industry leadership.
Actively promote new SunFi offerings, ensure a delightful customer onboarding process, and assist clients in business implementation
Leadership and People Development:
Support efforts to collaborate with the company’s leadership to train SunFi talent
Supports the development of SunFi and Sales Team OKRs
A focus on value creation for the company, not task orientation
Responsible for directing and managing the Sales Team in organizing offline and in-person engagements and activities related to the growth of B2B and B2C customer base and revenues. Takes direction and guidance from the Sales Manager. Drives process in the absence of a Sales Manager and seeks out guidance and collaboration from Head of Sales & Marketing and other stakeholders.
Display and exercise business leadership practices within the company and with stakeholders.
Support the recruitment, management, mentorship, and development of the Sales team to innovatively and competently deliver the results required of the team. You will be responsible for performance management and optimization of the sales team personnel
Evaluate, and where possible, build thought leadership within SunFi that enhances the company culture and values
Conduct weekly informal check-ins with all team members. These are unstructured scheduled meetings in which your team member and you can discuss areas of your interest, professional or personal. Emphasis should be placed on relationship-building
Runs meetings on the Growth Team with the coaching and support of your Manager, and the Head of the department
Advocates for the SunFi culture including ensuring team members use video as much as possible during meetings. You must be exemplary
Reporting:
Responsible for structuring and communicating key feedback from Users to Technology, Growth, Platform Finance, and other stakeholders
Responsible for mastering the SunFi Technology Platform
Responsible for sales reports on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis on Platform Growth performance, strategies, OKRs, KPIs, developments, challenges, and other key requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree / HND in, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of sales, marketing (or related roles) experience and at least 3 years of supervisory experience managing a team of at least 3 people
Demonstrated Growth hacking or customer acquisition skills in a Start-up or similar type of environment
Tech experience
Ability to speak and write English language fluently
Comfortable using computers and software as a Service, and able to learn digital applications fast
Good usage of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
Ability to use Google suites
Renewable energy experience is a plus
Experience with OKRs
Highly mobile
