Job Description

• Our client is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to lead our pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with WHO Good Manufacturing Practices, national regulatory standards (NAFDAC, PCN, Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity), and NIS ISO 9001:2008.
• This role involves overseeing production planning, product availability, technical services, and personnel management to produce high-quality pharmaceutical products efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure pharmaceutical products are manufactured and packaged in compliance with WHO Good Manufacturing Practices, NIS ISO 9001:2008, and relevant national regulatory authorities.
• Oversee production planning and control techniques to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements for Pharma Sales, marketing, and contract manufacturers.
• Optimize technical services and personnel management to achieve optimum capacity utilization and cost improvement.
• Collaborate with Engineering Services to perform routine maintenance of facilities, machinery, and life-cycle management, recommending upgrades or replacements as needed.
• Manage personnel, including recruitment, training, and retraining, to achieve the strategic objective of producing quality products. Also, oversee intern and student training.
• Establish a comprehensive documentation system for production and packaging operations in line with GMP and in coordination with Quality Assurance and Engineering.
• Conduct internal self-inspections or Internal GMP Audits in conjunction with the Quality Manager.
• Collaborate with QC/QA and Engineering Services to carry out validation, re-validation (as required), and qualification of manufacturing processes, cleaning processes, and packaging equipment, and plant utilities.
• Lead new product development and reformulation projects to align with the local market environment following GMP guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with WHO GMP guidelines, NAFDAC, other national regulatory authorities, ISO quality standards, in-house guidelines, and policies, and client guidelines (Toll Manufacturing).
• Investigate deviations in processes and procedures related to manufacturing and packaging operations.
• Maintain discipline and adherence to Company-wide policies within the Production Section in collaboration with other Sectional Heads, making reports as necessary.
• Develop and oversee Toll Manufacturing operations planning, development, and execution to make it a core business for the company.
• Advise and recommend replacements, process upgrades, and equipment enhancements as appropriate.
• Collect and maintain production output data, downtime statistics, and relevant information to assess the manufacturing system’s efficiency on a daily and monthly basis.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Plant Technical Director.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Master's Degree, B.Pharm or M.Pharm qualification with at least 12 years work experience.
