Job Summary

• As a consultant for a reputable government organization, you will support the monitoring and evaluation of key programmes and interventions being implemented by the Agency.
• You will play a crucial role in providing an objective and unbiased evaluation of key programmes as part of efforts to enhance programme performance, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making.

Responsibilities

• The Independent Project Audit Consultant will conduct a comprehensive process audit and assessment of interventions across the country.
• He/she will periodically analyze and report on mutually agreed activities.

Their specific duties and responsibilities are:

• Ensure that Government Audit procedures are taken into consideration and activities are carried out in alignment with the Audit procedures, including seeking opportunities to place reliance thereon.
• Conduct Spot checks to test system controls that adequately ensure an alert system is in place and functional to escalate challenges with programme interventions.
• Completeness checks to ensure that data tools are filled and reported through the appropriate channels
• Check and ensure standard operating procedures are in place and are being complied with
• Conduct an examination of the documentation practices for financial transactions, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow
• Identify risks and weaknesses and proffer recommendations to strengthen systems
• Express an opinion on the fairness and reliability of findings after the audit
• Share findings and recommendations of evaluation with the stakeholders involved

Requirements

• Applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of Second Class honors (lower division) in Arts, Sciences, Social Sciences, or related discipline from approved institution
• Previous experience in project monitoring and evaluation is highly desirable
• Must maintain ethical standards by demonstrating the highest integrity, objectivity, and independence of work
• Must possess strong analytical skills to examine complex health intervention programmes
• Must demonstrate strong attention to detail; being meticulous and paying close attention to the smallest of details
• Good interpersonal skills
• Must not have any financial expectation from the outcome of the project evaluation
• Good command of spoken and written English and other local Nigerian languages
• Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office package
• Problem-solving skills.
